Gonna party like it's 2012

We rang in 2012 at the house of G-Patz. Tonight, we ring in 2013 at the mansion of Dina. (seriously, that place is huge).

We are all very happy that she is hosting, unfinished basement and all. J

As per tradition, this post is my reflection on the highlights of 2012.

The winter was cold, as usual. I went skating several times on the canal which is always very fun! I went downhill skiing for pretty much the first time ( I don’t think that one school trip in 6th grade really counts). It was really fun and I didn’t get hurt!

That was in February which is the home month (yes, I totally made that term up) of Valentine’s day. I got tea which was delicious. But what was really fun is that one of my friends and I made homemade chocolate truffles. They were a bit of a challenge but we SOOO DELICIOUS when they were done. We were really proud of ourselves J

In 2012 I pet a cow. A baby cow, but still a cow. It licked me, and it was ok.
I went to a few Nerdfighter gatherings and got to know some of the awesome folks in my city. Then one of them moved to Belgium. Which is really cool, but I miss her.
I went to the symphony, like a grown up.

Checked out a bunch of museums in the city. God, I love museums J

Had some friends from camp come up to visit me.

Made margaritas for the first time. ( OM NOM  NOM)

My old fishy died.

My grandma died.

As I do every year, I watched a lot of shows. More Doctor Who.  Some Torchwood. All of Sherlock. All of Avatar: The last airbender.

In the summer I worked at a brand new camp. With almost all new people. Got to know some of them, learned to live with others. Sent 2 kids to the hospital for stitches. Created an entirely new organizational system for the camp health centre. Drank almost every weekend. Got stressed. Had life chats. Cleaned up vomit. Went swimming. Showered too rarely. Had fun.

In September I got new roomies. Things have been hit and miss with them. Some days we get along well. Others we do not. I also don’t live in a basement cave anymore.

At Thanksgiving my family, as usual, went camping. I love it every year.

In the summer, I also went camping with Malcolm. We went on a mini canoe trip. I showed off my mad wilderness skills and we bonded.
He and I go on fun trips. In the summer we went to wonderland for my birthday. It’s becoming a tradition and it’s really fun J

I  caught the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2012 summer Olympics. Not much of the events due to camp.

(sorry I’m not chronological, but time isn’t a strict progression of cause to effect anyways.)

Survived the "end of the world".

I had a wonderful Christmas with some family, friends, Malcolm. Ate entirely too many baked goods (but that’s ok, I own stretchy pants!) and drank a lot of wine. (I went 10 days having drinks everynight).
I spent some time with you ladies. Not a lot, and rarely in big chunks. But enough time to show you I love you. Enough time to laugh. And hug. And be silly, and awesome. We skyped nearly every week.

And I hope we keep doing that.

Tonight, let's party :)
