Since I have the pants I thought it was time to post the lovely letter I got with them! Complete with Valerie's ... unique ways of punctuating her sentencing.
Also what she would write on the pants is :
" Don't settle for the cold and rain. It's not to late to start again. Find a way to smile and never let it get away" ( From Never too late by Hedley)
Dawn!
Well, first my apologies that this letter and the pants which go with it are both a little late. Secondly further apologies that this late letter is being written by a rather sick, fuzzy headed me.Forgive any silly errors please, as well as accidental slips into MUN talk since I am still on a post NAMUN high...
I was hoping to get to parade the pants around more in Toronto, but everything I did while there seemed to have a dress code that omitted jeans. Business attire for session, dressyish stuff for the club night, ‘just shy of a black tie’ for the Gala...Only thing I really could have worn them too was the pub night, but owing to oncoming illness and need of sleep I passed on that one. So only time pants came out was on our super short amouts of downtime, but I was still glad to have them for that!
I feel like I have gone nuts on telling you all about my NAMUN adventures already...the blog post is only around 2000 words...you know...nothing much...But something I did not mention there was that Alexa commended the improvement from typical Valerie tree dancing to something resembling ‘real’ dancing. Thought you might enjoy that fact.
Another thing you may like is that at least for the time being I have turned to tea. yes that wording usually goes along the lines of 'I have turned to drink' and is in reference to alcohol, but oh well! Who needs to uphold social norms...Anyways, tea seems to be the only thing that helps my throat right now, so till it is better I see a lot of hot water in my future. This stupid biological agent of Russia (yes I AM bitter) has seriously compromised my study efforts, kept me from two night classes and gotten my boss to send me home (read back to residence) early with order to eat chicken noodle soup...Not cool!
Despite being sick though, I think I have smiled and laughed more since the first friday of reading week than almost the rest of term. Between fun times home with you guys, and MUN bonding with my delegates and my council it's been pretty amazing. I had a bunch of people to sit with in economics today, we suffered together and made MUN nerd jokes. My facebook friend count has gone up by like 20 almost overnight, and everyone is in happy nostalgia mode, it's great...I talked to Alexa about my living situation for nest year, which was also good, and got telling Dina that us living together next year wasn't seeming possible over with. Not fun but I feel better for it. I also go back to Guelph to find a memo from Tariq asking if I'd be inclined to just talk in the near future (which we did) so all in all save for illness, termwork and slight uncertainty about where I will live next year, most fronts of my life seem to be taking a turn for the somewhat better at the moment.
I also finally got your Valentine when I checked my mail on Sunday! It obviously arrived at some point over reading week when I was rather unable to go to my mailbox. Quite a nice find two weeks lat, haha! Good work Canada Post! I tell you service has just gone downhill after the retirement of a certain letter carrier.
In other news from the family, my poor brother has once again been frustrated by the health system. As I mentioned, he had an appointment with the knee surgeon in Toronto last week, where he was hoping to get a date for his surgery. Instead he was told he needs to get another MRI done. May I say it has almost been TWO YEARS since he originally hurt himself...Sorry to rant to you about that but it is really messing up his life and I just wish so much for him that something could be done (soon) to help him. The whole thing has put strain on all of us...
What else do I have to add to this letter...Oh! The pants have further improved their awesome exam track record! I wore them to the 27 minute owned 'History of Science & Society' midterm I had before break, and guess who killed it with a 92%? Heck yes! I am seriously considering taking a history minor while I am at it here. I will be taking history courses as electives anyways, may as well make them count for something right? I just have to figure out how many credits are allowed to overlap in counting for your major and minor, I know there is a limit just not exactly what it is... I feel lucky though, Dina still isn't sure what she wants as a major, and I know Erin is also having a mild heart attack about it. (She has to declare by the end of this year) there I am happy with a major, thinking about a minor! I know even Michele has been trying to figure out a major. She was thinking Chem. that just sounds painful to me...
Okay I am dying here, I think it's time to call it quits to my rambling pants letter. Sadly it's short by pants standards, my apologies!
*ducks from glare you issue due to apology*
We're past the 3/4 mark of first year! HUZZAH!
Much Love,
Valerie
PS - From Me and my Spanish class MORE MUSIC .... it's full of dreamy spanish voices!
Haha, I see nothing odd about the capitalization/spelling... And that has nothing to do with the fact that I wrote it at all!
ReplyDeleteAnd, I think I only apologize twice in that letter, a good record for me :P
Hope the pants have a good time with you Dawn, and I hope my writing on them wasn't too cheesy! But it really seemed apt. I heard the song while Michele was driving us on our girls day, and it just kind of stuck in my head...
nothing wrong with most of the spelling, and even the capitalization isn't TOO irregular, my main comment on punctuation is that you seen to use ellipses (...) far more than the average person, and in places where it would make more sense to definitively end a sentence and begin a new one!
ReplyDeleteI guess my thoughts just trail off more than most people's do :P
ReplyDeleteValerie is almost as indecisive as you, Dawn. How do you expect her to decide to definitively end a sentence when she was the option of it both continuing and stopping at the same time with an ellipse?
ReplyDeleteYou apologized four times at least, Valerie.
I went through with 'Control F' and there are 3 apologies. So one more than I thought and one less than Dina figured.
ReplyDeleteAn yeah, I agree Dina. I do enjoy the use of ellipses. Probably a little too much.
Three had the word apology or some derivative in them while the last one said "Forgive me". It still counts as an apology
ReplyDeleteBahh... Oh well, better to be over apologetic than an egotistical arse. :)
ReplyDeleteYou know you love it! <3 :P
ReplyDeleteAnd by "it" I mean me, the egotistical arse. :D
ReplyDeleteUh, I wasn't pointing fingers when I said that, it was a general statement, but I do love you.
