Family

As you all know by now, my week did not start out very well. Aside from the gas leak, I also lost my cell phone,  got in an argument with my podmates and was generally very stressed out.

I facebooked my little sister and asked her to get mom to call me on my residence phone. She did and I proceeded to have a nice little cry on her. I love my mom. The first thing she told me to do when she realized how upset I was was "Go make a cup of tea".
It's amazing a) how mom's just know and b) how much tea actually helps.

Tea cup in hand I was able to calm down enough to explain everything to my mom and she was really awesome and didn't even get mad at me for losing my phone.

My dad has been really awesome in helping me with the phone issue as well, putting my service on hold and looking into the best way for me to get a new one.

Today I got a care package from my little sisters, delivered by my uncle. My sisters sent me a crown from Medieval times, along with the most GIGANTIC mug you have ever seen in your life. Seriously, it's like the size of a teapot. They also wrote me some cute notes that made me smile.

It was nice to see my uncle, we chatted for a bit and he gave me an update on how my Grandad is doing. He had quadruple-bypass surgery last weekend (which is why my fam-jam was in TO and why my uncle was back home)

As I got back to my room my rez phone was ringing! It was my grandma (from the other side of the family). She's going to be in town on Friday and wants to take me out to dinner.

So as terribly as this week started I think it's all going to work out :)

  1. "how much tea actually helps" = my entire life

I'm glad your week is turning up and I hope it keeps getting better. Your famjam is awesome and a half and also insane (in the clinical way). Basically, I love them and you. <3

  2. Tea still hasn't caught me... I totally am a believer in its medical capacity to bring my voice back now, but I can't quite appreciate the taste of hot water yet. Someday maybe.

I am also glad your week is on the upswing, I totally know how it feels to just have a bit of a break down, friends and family are amazing.

And I also love your family, as a non blood member, haha, they are truly awesome!! My little sisters have kept in touch with me once in a while too which has been awesome!
