What's strange is that I wasn't at home. I had thought it was something about my room that caused the dreams - but apparently not.
the following is a dream comprised of many odd parts. Like most dreams, it doesn't make a lot of sense - but believe me when I tell you the scenery was absolutely breath-taking. Beautiful rich vivid colours and textures, subtle displays of light. I am fairly certain I dream in colour because I remember it so well. I don't think I could fill in colours like that in my waking imagination.
anyways without further ado, here is the basic plot line of the dream. There were a few more random details I remembered when I first woke up, but ,alas, they have escaped me. I do remember quite a lot though!
I was out to dinner with my family, and there were a few families from camp there. So I went over to say hello. Had a lovely chat, and someone showed me where the rest rooms were. They were in a really old part of the building, and around the corner from them was a room with a bed, and a gorgeous large window.
I went into the room and Malcolm was there. We weren’t wearing any clothes and we lay on the bed looking out the window at the ravine/valley and the school across from it. All of a sudden our room lurched downward and we were at window level with the school. We ducked below the window frame, but not before getting a glimpse of some Music students looking out the window of the drama room at us.
I heard my name being called and I left through the door. It brings me to a beautiful stream, which turns into a gentle waterfall down the valley. There were baby turtles swimming in the stream, and I help them maneuver around a fallen log.
My name is called again, and I see my family sitting by the edge of a lake at the bottom of the valley. There is a bridge crossing one section and I notice it has stairs. “that’s not very accessible” I think to myself. But I see a wider bridge below that one, and see a car driving across it. As I watch, the car drives right off the bridge and into the water. Its tires inflate and it drives across the water to rest by a whale. I ask my sister about it.
She says things are changing and hands me a pair of broken sunglasses. I put them on and look at the whale. She slaps her tail, and I wake up.
She the whale slaps her tail or she your sister? Haha!
ReplyDeleteI hope you aquried some clothing before you ended seeing the fam jam again, even in sleep land that would be awkward.
Sorry if my immediate thoughts weren't profound ones, but thank you for writing this down, I love hearing about other people's dreams.
She the whale. yes, not all whales are attractive men :P
ReplyDeleteI vaguely remember seeing my swim suit on a rock, but I have no idea if I actually put it on or not :P
As usual, your dreams are fantastic. I also find it very amusing that you were naked pretty much the entire time. Pervy music kids are pervy, but what else is new? The baby turtles seem very like you and I wish Lyra had a super inflating tire sitting so I could go across water.
ReplyDeleteThis is so trippy! My dreams are never this deep or thought provoking. Haha, they're usually ridiculous things like us having p-prom at McDonalds.... :p
ReplyDelete@ Dawn I am glad you think the not-whale is attractive, haha! And I hope that you had the sense to don the swimsuit.
ReplyDelete@ Dina the Lathemator showed us a Bill Nye video one time I think where a car did some kind of water traversing thing, not sure if you want to tinker with the design on Lyra but I guess the science is there to make it happen :P
@ Michele: I recall you telling us about an epic one that involved saving your family from Mob bosses! And I dreamed a while ago that we had P-Prom at my school complete with all the folks from here, that was strange but you all got along with each other well! We seem to have P-Prom dreams on the brain.
I'm glad you were all entertained by my strange subconscious :)
