Culture in the Capital

So on Friday I was SUPER classy and went to the SYMPHONY.

Malcolm said " It's funny, it didn't hit that I'm 20 until just now". I understand, I felt very adult. My roomies were at a hockey game, but I'm not a huge hockey fan, so I decided to do something else.

I was able to get really cheap tickets to Carmina Burana. If anyone ever wants to come visit and go to a show they have a great selection. I'm sad that I wont' be here in the summer cause they're doing the music from LOTR!!!

Anyways, Carmina Burana. It was fantastic! There was the orchestra, the choir, a children's choir and the soloists. I was not blown away by the soloists but then - for music like this I prefer the sound of a chorus. The children's choir was FANTASTIC. they did not have a large role, but they NAILED everything they had.

We had a box and I had a pretty good view of the percussion section and they guy who played the triangle was getting  VERY into it. I couldn't help but giggle a little. We could also sometimes see the conductors face which I like because good conductors conduct with PASSION.

The music was overwhelming and beautiful and full of emotion. I was really lucky to have the chance to go. And it helped too that I was with someone who I know appreciates music.

Something about going to the symphony and holding hands put us both in a super romantic mood too which was really cute.

Also I wore a new dress that I think is super cute. God I love sundresses. I have entirely too many but I have no regrets :P

Anyways hope you enjoyed this short update from my life and I hope you're all doing well :)

Much love as usual!
