Deathly Hallows

How has no-one blogged about this yet!!?!?! seriously!! I know we're all busy (well... not Dina) but seriously. I get like 1.5 hours free time between 7 am and 11pm. and *I* am blogging about it??

I dont' have much time so PLEASE blog your own opinions! I just wanted to say it was REALLY good! Definatly worth the wait.

our costumes ? - EPIC
Getting our picture in the paper? - even more epic

SOO without giving spoilers I want to say I laughed significantly more than I thought I would. I Bawled once. I teared up several times. I cheered and booed and clapped along with the entire theatre. It was amazeballs.

I don't have much time so I may add to this later but that's all for now!

TONIGHT!!! OMGOMGOMG!!

LADIES!!!

(See what I mean about the exclaimations?!)

FRENCH THE LLAMA! it's today!!!
and you'd better not be asking " what is today?" because if you do I'll punch you in the face.

I wouldn't punch you in the face but if you've read the tags and you still don't know then maybe it's time for a CRUCIO!!! Heh, heh...

Hey! I totally came up with that CRUCIO line!

Yes, you did, but since I'm typing I get to write things first.

Soooo, we're just sitting in my bedroom trying not to do anything so that we can totally geek out later.

It's hard for me to sit still anytime but especially when I'm so freakin' hyper!! and EXCITED!! O.O

It's usually easy for me to do nothing but Dawnatron interferes vastly with my lounging and so does the fact that IT ALL ENDS TONIGHT!!! OMGOMGOMG!!

Calm down! Calm down! You're getting all excited!

It's your fault as explained above.

As if! It's so not my fault! It's J.K. freakin' Rowling's fault!

I agree but I can't be mad at her and she's too far away to yell at anyway and my yell would probably be more like "IT'S YOUR FAULT I'M SO HYPER BUT I LOVE YOU FOR IT AND YOU'RE AMAZING AND SQUEEEEEEEEEEE!!"

I would leave out the first part and just go straight to the SQUEEEEEEEE!!!

Valerie and Michele are sucky at directions. For serious. They are semi-lost but I think we straightened them out. We will see them so soon! SOOO EXCITED!!

Dawn has gone to get laundry and Valerie and Michele are almost here so I think this is the end.

HOGWARTS FOREVER!

Tomorrow is Thursday!

Oh my goodness gracious me!

LADIES!

I feel like I've started all of my recent posts with an exclaimation but holy goldfish am I excited! Like, literally tomorrow is Thursday and Thursday is when it is all going down!
IT ALL ENDS

I don't think that listening to the dramatic soundtrack while I write this is helping me be calm... I hope you don't mind because I really don't want to be calm right now. I would much rather be
hugely excited for seeing you ladies and for all being all nerdy together.

We are going to make downright classy nerds, I tell you! I am super duper excited to get in my costume and run around the neighbourhood looking badass in my robes. Can we please do that? "That" being spend some time walking around doing normal teenage/twenty-ish things in full Harry Potter nerdgasm inducing glory? I would seriously love that.

I mentioned the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 soundtrack earlier so I'll talk more about it now. I've never owned the previous movie soundtracks but this time around I figured "This is going to be so awesome that the music must be awesome, too" and got it two days ago.

!SPOILERS AHEAD!

Do I like it? Yes. There are so many moments that you can just feel are going to be so touching. The first track on the album is Lily's Theme which really sets the game for the rest of it, as far as I'm concerned. This theme, which is new as far as I'm aware, is reprised in quite a few of the later tracks. The most notable and heartwrenching of these is Snape's Demise. When I recognized Lily's Theme during my first listen through I was holding back some tears. I can practically see that moment when her voice is first heard as the moment after Snape says "Look at me"; when he catches his last glimpse of beautiful green...

While Lily's Theme appears to be the main returning theme in this movie, fans of the previous films will be happy to know that the original Hedwig's Theme makes a return, too. It's not as celebratory as it was in previous films by a long stretch but it underlies most of the main events, just present enough to hint at memories of previous years.

There's a track called Broomsticks and Fire which makes me squee in anticipation. The track, in terms of music, is nothing very exceptional to me but I'm definitely looking forward to the moment on screen.

"Malfoy was screaming and holding Harry so tightly it hurt." - Deathly Hallows (p.509)

If I were to pick one song that I think will sum up this movie it would be Courtyard Apocalypse. Noting here that I haven't actually seen the movie yet I still think that this track manages to convey the emotionally heavy and severity of the movie that has been expressed in interviews with the cast.

!SPOILERS OVER!

I am also super excited to be picking up the lovely Dawnatron tonight! Only a few hours away from being drowned in camp stories, extra excitement and possibly some dirty camp laundry from our resident Ravenclaw.

See you soon ladies! Much fun awaits!

Less Than One Week

LADIES!

It is officially less than one week until Deathly Hallows Part 2!

Are we excited? Are we crying already? For me, the answer is both.

Laronda texted me yesterday to let me know that they were streaming the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Premiere online and I watched the entire thing getting more and more excited with every passing minute. I kept thinking things like "Only a few more days and then the C4 is going to be that excited! It's going to be so awesome to nerd-out together in costume!" (Michele, you better have something to wear, girl, or we are going to have a problem/going to go shopping and make you get something.)

There were so many good moments in the interviews. The twins were probably one of my favourites for the actual interviews because they seemed just so intensely thrilled with everything that was going on and so enthusiastic about the fans. When Alan Rickman stepped up for his interview (start at 5mins) all the fans started singing "Snape, Snape, Severus Snape" and I laughed so much.

When the premiere got to its end though... *sighs*

If you want to see what I actually mean by "the end", you can find it here.

What the entire thing came down to for me was when J.K. Rowling got up and gave her last speech.

...

When I first sat down to write this I was going to go straight into it and talk about the last line, which is probably what I'll remember of the entire thing, but now I've gone and watched it again and as soon as she gets to "No story lives unless someone wants to listen" I can feel my eyes start producing the inevitable tears.

God, I never used to cry at all... What's happening? How is this even possible?

"The stories we love best to live in us forever so whether you come back by page, or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home."

*cries* Oh, yeah, that's how.

I'm going to end this now before it gets out of control.

Until The Very End

HP 5 - Because It Couldn't Be Missed

Hey ladies,

So I've just finished reading Valerie's last entry about Half-Blood Prince and I decided that, seeing as I'm always in the mood for a bit of Potter (take that however you will), I might as well watch Order of the Phoenix and give some thoughts.

1) Big D: "Who's Cedric? Is that your boyfriend?" HP: "As if! Cedric was just a one off! My boyfriend is much sexier and blonder and more charming and a lot less Hufflepuff!" (I may have made that last bit up...)

2) This is when the movies started getting good! Dang!

3) I wonder if the park at the beginning is the same park they're going to feature in The Prince's Tale... Was it supposed to be the same park? I can't quite remember.

4) Thank you to David Yates and Nicholas Hooper! Especially Nicholas Hooper but I realize that they work together more often than not to produce what I love so much.

5) Ron and Hermione are both wearing stripes in their original meeting with Harry and all his angst. I can only assume this was to make them look more couple-y.

6) Molly: "Just because you're of age now does NOT mean you have to whip your wands out for everything!" Me: *giggles*

7) Watching the openning of this movie made me realize how ominous the start of the seventh movie was with the rusting logo. Brilliant move there. I'd forgotten it was so effective.

8) BLUE EYES!!! UGH!! They're, like, super blue which is awesome except for the fact that they're really not supposed to be. I think my main problem with this is that I actually like them quite a bit for themselves and am trapped between wanting to see and admire them vs. knowing I should be disgusted for the fandom's sake by their mere presence in the film.

9) Voldemort-like head movement makes it's first appearance! So many of them in this film!

10) ANGST ANGST ANGST!!

11) Why does Harry say Lord Voldemort instead of just Voldemort? I wouldn't think he would used a title like that.

12) Watching Dan writhe around on a bed making gasping noices is rather distracting from any sort of plot following I might want to do. Not that I mind...

13) I completely agree with Valerie about Luna! She is seriously amazing. They picked a great actress to play her as well. Her high register gives her even more of that dreamy quality which you can't help but love when there's so much darkness everywhere.

14) Alan Rickman is amazeballs. For real. *shivers*

15) There's actually quite a bit of Draco in this movie, even if it's only in background shots.

16) I know that you ladies have a special soft spot for Richard Harris but I rather appreciate Michael Gambon's livelier version.

17) Aberforth! and a goat! I totally forgot that he was in this!

18) This movie is the beginning of Neville becoming kick-ass. I like it a lot. Speaking of, have any of you seen his action posters for the last movie? *almost drools (but good lord what is that sweater?!)*

19) I love Fred and George!

20) That awkward moment when you kiss the former girlfriend of your ex-shag piece who has since been murdered by a batshit crazy bastard...

21) Can someone please tell these kids how to tie their ties? Please?

22) Kingsley: "You may not like him, Minister, but you cannot deny. Dumbledore's got style."

23) I've given up on understanding how the costume people get their hands on some of these sweaters. I mean really now.

24) Lucius in leather.

25) I really do enjoy anything that happens in the Department of Mysteries. The Bound Prince Series, anyone? Were Lily and James actually Unspeakables or was that just a convenience for that plot line?

26) Sirius to the rescue moment was super awesome. Not quite Molly Weasley DH awesome but still entertaining for sure.

27) Okay, problem I hadn't thought about before. While Voldy and Dumbles and battling in the Ministry their wands and doing the connect and spew random magic thing and this is in the final trailers, too. I realize this isn't quite Priori Incantatem because there's no surrounding cage but this really bugs me when there's no core connection between the wands.

28) Fudge: "He's back!" Everyone else: "No shit!"

Well this has been fun! I can't wait to see you ladies up here to watch the last movie at midnight. Do you realize how incredible that's going to be?! I'm soooo excited!

Love you all,

Dina

waiting for dina

it's more exciting than Waiting For Godot because I'm waiting with Valerie :P  Dina's gonna pick us up and take us to FIREWORKS!! because it's Canada Day, and Fireworks are AWESOME!!!

Who knew Michele time was a contagious condition?  In the wise words of Bill Nye.... "Now you know!!!"

It's hilarious blogging with Valerie btw because of her adorable little noises. She couldn't find the backspace key on Kenneth (yes, my laptop has been named) so she made a little meeping sound :P

I meep, I eep, it happens...  I am (insert meep here cause I opened a bunch of things by accidentally hitting control...) told it is thoroughly entertaining.

I think people in general are fairly entertaining  really :P , I Probably am... I do dumb stuff a lot anyways.

Something that is REALLY entertaining is that we sent Andre home to get changed because he wasn't wearing anything Canada Dayish...

and by "we" she means my mom. How cool is my mom? very cool. My little sister said I was cool, because I bought her candy. But not just any candy, it was candy shaped like DINOSAURS!

Cool is all a matter of perspective, personally I quite believe that geeks have more fun, and since fun is cool geeks are cool by default....

I was about to get all offended cause I thought she was gonna say my mom wasn't cool. Then I read what she actually wrote, and I agree :P HOORAY!!

Huzzah to having reached an agreement!!!  On that note, we ought to end our random ramblings since the overdue Dina as mentioned in the title ought to be here any minute, even with the affliction of Michele time.

Best wishes!! From Dawn & Valerie!
