Tomorrow is Thursday!

Oh my goodness gracious me!

LADIES!

I feel like I've started all of my recent posts with an exclaimation but holy goldfish am I excited! Like, literally tomorrow is Thursday and Thursday is when it is all going down!
IT ALL ENDS

I don't think that listening to the dramatic soundtrack while I write this is helping me be calm... I hope you don't mind because I really don't want to be calm right now. I would much rather be
hugely excited for seeing you ladies and for all being all nerdy together.

We are going to make downright classy nerds, I tell you! I am super duper excited to get in my costume and run around the neighbourhood looking badass in my robes. Can we please do that? "That" being spend some time walking around doing normal teenage/twenty-ish things in full Harry Potter nerdgasm inducing glory? I would seriously love that.

I mentioned the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 soundtrack earlier so I'll talk more about it now. I've never owned the previous movie soundtracks but this time around I figured "This is going to be so awesome that the music must be awesome, too" and got it two days ago.

!SPOILERS AHEAD!

Do I like it? Yes. There are so many moments that you can just feel are going to be so touching. The first track on the album is Lily's Theme which really sets the game for the rest of it, as far as I'm concerned. This theme, which is new as far as I'm aware, is reprised in quite a few of the later tracks. The most notable and heartwrenching of these is Snape's Demise. When I recognized Lily's Theme during my first listen through I was holding back some tears. I can practically see that moment when her voice is first heard as the moment after Snape says "Look at me"; when he catches his last glimpse of beautiful green...

While Lily's Theme appears to be the main returning theme in this movie, fans of the previous films will be happy to know that the original Hedwig's Theme makes a return, too. It's not as celebratory as it was in previous films by a long stretch but it underlies most of the main events, just present enough to hint at memories of previous years.

There's a track called Broomsticks and Fire which makes me squee in anticipation. The track, in terms of music, is nothing very exceptional to me but I'm definitely looking forward to the moment on screen.

"Malfoy was screaming and holding Harry so tightly it hurt." - Deathly Hallows (p.509)

If I were to pick one song that I think will sum up this movie it would be Courtyard Apocalypse. Noting here that I haven't actually seen the movie yet I still think that this track manages to convey the emotionally heavy and severity of the movie that has been expressed in interviews with the cast.

!SPOILERS OVER!

I am also super excited to be picking up the lovely Dawnatron tonight! Only a few hours away from being drowned in camp stories, extra excitement and possibly some dirty camp laundry from our resident Ravenclaw.

See you soon ladies! Much fun awaits!

  1. I am ridiculously excited too!!!! Today at work, a little kid made my day, which is impressive. He was wearing this necklace, which on closer inspection was Slytherin's locket!

I said 'you appear to be wearing a horcrux sir'. His eyes lit up and he said that he was indeed, and then cracked it open to reveal the pictures of Harry and Hermione inside it. A child after my own heart...

I then had a wonderfully nerdy chat with his Mom, who has a daughter our age who is also a Potterite. She is going full robe tomorrow too!!

I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!! My 9 hour shift today was made bearable only by the thought of us all at HP. Michele says she thinks we shall be leaving earlier than planned tomorrow, so see you ladies a bit quicker than expected!!!

  2. And when I say 'the pictures' I mean he had stuck some Harmonie in there. :D

  3. Kid was wearing a horcrux with Harmony inside? That is frightening but probably just means that he watched Deathly Hallows Pt. 1, not actually a Harmony shipper. Was this kid a ginger? That would make this a tiny bit funnier.

For all your whining about your job you seem to meet the most awesome people!

I don't know if it's just the people I follow on Twitter but they seem to call Potter fans Potterheads instead of Potterites. Personally, I would prefer to be called a Hogwarts alumnus, a memeber of the DA, or SUPER AWESOME than either of the first options. :P

  4. Kid was not ginger, but he told me he thought Bellatrix was in the raspberry patch, which gets him further brownie points. He was too young to ship, but it still made me happy.

I have met some awesome (and random) people, they are just outnumbered by the cash fail incidents and old people complaining to me.

Also, the other young tractor guy was def hitting on one of my co-workers. Just as a random observation.

And obviously we all want to be Hogwarts alumni, and we are in our hearts at least!!
