I haven't dropped off the face of the planet don't worry! I'm here! At camp! having fun! Getting dressed up in wild costumes, singing at the top of my lungs and getting covered in paint, glue and who knows what else.
It's a really amazing time, something that can't be described unless you've been to camp and have experienced it yourself. It's odd having been here for so long. This is my 4th year and in ways it makes me feel old. I have watched so many of our campers grow up, but I myself have also grown up. In 2008 I scared some other counsellors, my energy, while still high, has toned down considerably. There is another staff member who has been here longer than I, and he has commented on more than one occasion how incredible it has been for him to see me mature into the young lady that I am. It was a very heart-warming thing to hear.
Anyways I just wanted to drop a line, tell you all that I was still having fun!
It's less than 2 weeks until I leave camp and I'm not sure what to think.
Dawn!! Nice to hear from you, I figured you hadn't been swallowed up by a great chasm in the earth, but it is always nice to get some confirmation on that. :P
ReplyDeleteIt has been an amazing thing to see your massive amount of energy become more focused as you have gotten older as opposed to the random bursts it came in before. You kinda scared me back in the day too... Haha!
Your energy and enthusiasm are a real marvel Dawn, always know that. :)
Can't wait to have you back for a short bit before the summer ends, I know it will be bittersweet for you though.
