A Strange Dream

I went through a phase not long ago where I was having vivid dreams every night for like a month. They were usually fairly short though and I didn't really realize that they had stopped. Until another one came.
What's strange is that I wasn't at home. I had thought it was something about my room that caused the dreams - but apparently not.

the following is a dream comprised of many odd parts. Like most dreams, it doesn't make a lot of sense - but believe me when I tell you the scenery was absolutely breath-taking. Beautiful rich vivid colours and textures, subtle displays of light. I am fairly certain I dream in colour because I remember it so well. I don't think I could fill in colours like that in my waking imagination.

anyways without further ado, here is the basic plot line of the dream. There were a few more random details I remembered when I first woke up, but ,alas, they have escaped me. I do remember quite a lot though!

I was out to dinner with my family, and there were a few families from camp there. So I went over to say hello. Had a lovely chat, and someone showed me where the rest rooms were. They were in a really old part of the building, and around the corner from them was a room with a bed, and a gorgeous large window.

I went into the room and Malcolm was there. We weren’t wearing any clothes and we lay on the bed looking out the window at the ravine/valley and the school across from it. All of a sudden our room lurched downward and we were at window level with the school. We ducked below the window frame, but not before getting a glimpse of some Music students looking out the window of the drama room at us.

I heard my name being called and I left through the door. It brings me to a beautiful stream, which turns into a gentle waterfall down the valley. There were baby turtles swimming in the stream, and I help them maneuver around a fallen log.

My name is called again, and I see my family sitting by the edge of a lake at the bottom of the valley. There is a bridge crossing one section and I notice it has stairs. “that’s not very accessible” I think to myself. But I see a wider bridge below that one, and see a car driving across it. As I watch, the car drives right off the bridge and into the water. Its tires inflate and it drives across the water to rest by a whale.  I ask my sister about it.

She says things are changing and hands me a pair of broken sunglasses. I put them on and look at the whale. She slaps her tail, and I wake up.

Hoppy easter :)

( I've been waiting SO LONG to use that joke :P )

Ok so I'd like to tell you about my easter weekend. Starting Saturday.
I went to the Agriculture Museum with some friends (a bunch were nerdfighters, but not all of them) and we got to see a bunch of baby animals! We pet some sheep, and goats. Saw horses and pigs. Held baby bunnies, squeed over baby chickies. Yes, we were pretty much the only ones there who were neither small children nor parents, but no, we didn't care.

As I have posted about before, I am not a huge fan of cows. They are rather large and stupid animals and they make me uneasy. I have always found the baby cows cute, and with a fence between us I got really close to one calf. I even reached out to pet her. And then she decided to get friendly.

Yup, that is me. Getting licked by a cow. My jacket was COVERED in cow slobber by the time I left. And you know what? It wasn't scary, it didn't make me uneasy. Mostly it was just funny. So maybe cows aren't so terrible after all??

Today (Sunday), was my Family Easter Dinner. Huge tradition and lots of fun. We were missing a chunk of the family this year due to various reasons, but we had the addition of the ginger. Since Easter is in my city and he was unable to go home for the weekend, I thought he might appreciate some free delicious food. I was a little nervous for him at first, but it was no big deal. He had met most of the people there already, and made a good impression on the rest :) HUZZAH!       I recieved lots of candy and chocolate and PEEEPS from both  my family and his. Om nom nom. I sugar crashed a little and after dinner he and I came back to my place to nap.

Naps are wonderful. I have a feeling I will probably be taking too many of them this week. In a battle between napping and studying... I think Napping EASILY comes out on top as the more enjoyable choice. That, along with eating and tumblring :P

Speaking of Exams, Good luck to all! and as usual, Much Love :)

PS  - Dina, I started watching Sherlock. They're so gay for each other.

Doctor Who? *spoilers ahead, sweetie*

[Author's note: This is going to be a big rant about Doctor Who and nothing else really so if you're not interested go and make yourself a cup of tea, eat some jammie dodgers and forget all about this the minute you turn your head away from the screen.]

Hello there lovelies,

It's exam period and it's been far too long since I've written on here so you're about to get a little bit of what's been going on but, as previously stated, it's exam period so really there's only been one thing going on...

PROCRASTINATION!!

And I think this year's choice deserves an award for being the best of distractions.

On Monday March 26th I started watching Doctor Who and now, on Sunday April 8th (Easter Sunday this year, happy Easter everyone), I've finished the new series. THIRTEEN DAYS and no more spoilers, or are there?

Woah, guys, just woah... I want to talk about all the things now but, of course, there isn't a whole lot of time to do it what with exams and the studying I should be doing. Ah well, always waste time when you're running out of it...

So, first things first sounds like a good way to go about it. I never got your fascination with David Tennant before I'd seen him as the Doctor. Really, I hadn't a clue. Always thought that Matt Smith was more handsome in a rather vague, didn't really care at all but you presented the situation for judgement kind of way, but I get it now and I mean really, really get it.

I mean, I did get a bit attached to Christopher Eccleston so it was a bit hard for me to jump straight on to David Tennant (hmm, jumping straight onto David Tennant, there's a thought). I obviously had a little bit of time where I didn't understand David as the Doctor... well, maybe it took an episode, well, actually it was more the length of one scene, well, that's not right either you see because he really had me melting into a puddle of fangirl goo with that first smile after "Barcelona"...

Yeah... Moving on!

Do you know that what started my decent into madness this time around was actually the ginger's post about how he ships Doctor/Rose out of all the things that a whovian could ship? Got me quite curious that. And here I do a little research [read: Google search] and find out that the first episode to start is called Rose and I would be seeing someone who I already liked a great deal in that first season, Captain Jack Harkness, and there was no resistance left to be had. Thanks, ginger, for the push off the deep end.

So how about that Rose Tyler? To be honest, I really didn't like her in the beginning. She seemed pretty thick. Still does, at times. That said, I really did love how she and the Doctor looked after each other and how she really did become a time traveller. I don't think the others quite got there. Martha could turn away and she had other things she could think about, Donna was drawn in but really for that one purpose and along for the ride instead of being full heart, no holds barred, invested into life on the TARDIS like Rose was. Did I cry when she got deserted in an alternate universe? Of course I did! It was raining on my face I was crying so hard but did that mean I wanted her back? No, not really. I was actually feeling all kinds of "thisissowrongthisissowrongTHISISSOWRONG" thoughts (the same kind the Doctor gets when he looks at Jack because Jack is a fixed point) when she came back with everyone else for The Stolen Earth and The Journey's End. I really would have been perfectly content with never seeing her again and those episodes just proved to me why. I mean honestly, snogs the lookalike and let's the Doctor get away with another lady? Even if they are platonic, that's pretty pathetic in my books. You've got to fight the good fight if you want to hold onto him and I think Rose failed there.

River Song on the other hand... It's weird. I feel like I can't talk about her without talking about Steven Moffat. She is, after all, his creation. Her entire timeline and the way her story is so convoluted also seems to be the way Steven writes and, while I prefer Russell T Davies in terms of writing, I definitely love River Song. I mean, come on! Another time traveller moving in the opposite direction? Intellectually challenging? Knowing all the answers and teasing you with them? Hell in high heels? All things I love to see. Steven Moffat's way of writing the long term is frustrating because it leaves all those clues for you without any keystone to put them together but he's the only one who could manipulate a timeline like that and deliver that character. I actually think Moffat is a bit like the Weeping Angels that he created, he kills you by making you wait.

Donna needs a mention in here because she was fabulous! After the emotional trama that was Doomsday and the loss of Rose Tyler I was completely unattached to Martha Jones. I mean, really? You're interested in the Doctor, are you? Get in line, princess! The rest of us suffered all the heartbreak with him first so back off! *sighs* There were things I liked about her but I was sooo not in the mood for any funny business after Rose. Therefore, Donna = perfect! Sassy, loud, bossy woman who slaps the Doctor in the face more times then she kisses him? Badassery of the highest quality is what I call that! You go girl! The most important woman in the universe, DoctorDonna. Fabulous.

Here, slightly random observational comment. I love that Rose, Donna and River are regular sized women. There are so many super skinny actresses these days *cough*AmeliaPond*cough*MarthaJones*cough* but those three look like regular sized human beings. We don't need any more Cassandras, do we?

Speaking of Cassandra, she and 10 get my vote for favourite kiss. Weird? Maybe, but it's the truth. In explanation I give you the following points: 1) "Yep. Still got it." and 2) Hands in the Tennant hair. Coming in close second is River and 11 with bowtie wrapped hands. That one was about 20X hotter in regular speed during Doctor Who Confidential but it gets second place because it was slow mo'ed. *sighs*

Can we talk about that last episode a little more for a minute? The Doctor's name. The unspeakable thing that has to be spoken sometime in the near future episodes. How do you guys feel about that? I don't think that it'll really be spoken for us to hear but still... I'm all in a tizzy about this planet where you have to answer honestly. River must be around to stop the universe from falling apart but still... Moffat getting so close to this makes me nervous. Nervous and rather defensive in the same way as before with the return of Rose. He better be careful is all I'm saying! I'm looking forward to it but ugh... When does the new season start again?

That's about all I've got time for I'm afraid. I really must be off to do some very serious studying now. I hope you enjoyed my rant and that you'll add comments telling me off or agreeing very vehemently with me. I look forward to them.

Yours with love,

Dina
