I went Skiing and I didn't die

So I'm sure you all REALLY wanna hear about my reading week so here goes ! :P

I thought about doing this chronologically and I probably will eventually so it makes sense, but for now it's just thoughts and stuff.

skiing is surprisingly fun, but OMG exhausting. I only fell once!  After skiing and snowshoeing I was so freaking sore, I had to go down the stairs on my bum. Malcolm's cousin teased me about that, but I don't care. She is super and nice - we totally bonded.

The ski village was sooo freaking adorable and all light up at night it looked like something straight out of a fairy tale. We saw some fireworks too! I LOOOVE fireworks :)

I caught up with some old friends I hadn't seen in a while which was nice. apparently Alysha and I hadn't gotten together in over a year? wtf? we went for tea with the scallywag, and went out dancing with the model. he can't dance, but who cares it was fun.

I got my hair did and I really likes it :) my roomies all said it looks great when I saw them. and the ging says it's "very cute", I kind of have some side bangs now and my hairdresser said they " add sex appeal". ha ha. me. with sex appeal. lol.

my sisters friends all idolize me, probably because I bring them candy. I love candy. my daddy bought me chocolate to share with people so too bad I don't see y'all more often.

You've all seen the tipsy texts from Valerie, I'm just waiting till she posts some of mine. Went to my cousin's wedding and convinced my relatives to buy me drinks. good times.

I guess the week was good, I was in the patch for longer than I originally anticipated but it worked out well. I got to spend time with some adorable children.

My mum and I went to a Guide meeting and taught some 10 year olds about Thinking Day and Lord and Lady BP. We helped run some crafts and games and a little girl made me a friendship bracelet. adorable.

I was alone and bored in the house a lot with everyone away at work and such, but I liked when Malcolm was able to slip over on his lunch break. I'm surprised he didn't go crazy after spending a 3+ hour car ride with me on the way to and from skiing. I even had caffeine! that boy is a trouper! :)

I realize this post is ALLL over the place, but hey, that's me. can't wait to hear about your weeks!
and expand on what I said here.

love you muchly!

Hey all,
As you may know, the lovely Valerie was (is) at an MUN conference this week. I don't know a lot about MUN, but I know they like to party.

Trying NOT to embarrass Valerie but rather to entertain Dina and Michele, I present to you - Texts from Valerie.

- Can I apologize in advance now that I am no longer tipsy in the slightest ? ( I don't know how that works, wouldn't really be in advance would it ?)
- So two of my roomies decided to be a tad heteroflexible last night

The end is nigh

Hey ladies,

Guess what? I'm obscenely early to class! What else is new right? Wrong! Usually I'm on campus around half an hour early and around my classroom about 20 minutes early. Today I was 40 minutes early. Weirder thing? Two people were already inthe lecture hall... at 10 to 8!!

Welcome to my school.

This week has been crazy. I know I've had it a lot milder than some because I don't have any labs but let me tell you it is still disgusting.

But you know what?

It's almost over.

I've got my physiology midterm later today and then all my acedemic stress for this side of reading week will be over. I can't wait, but at the same time I feel like I really could wait because I feel like I really could use some more studying. That and I'd like some more time to remove thoughts of dead cats from my head. I really dislike dissections...

Even though the stress is technically over later this morning today is going to be a long day. Our men's hockey team is entering the playoffs and the band has been asked to play the anthem at their first playoff game tonight which means that 1) I'll probably get a mildly sweet athletics t-shirt an 2) I probably won't be off campus until 10. I'm already sleep deprived. I really don't want to be up or out any later than I have tone today.

There's something so peaceful about the morning when people aren't awake and around. That quietness existed when I got here but is now rather thoroughly destroyed. The guy in front of me doesn't seem to understand the concept that headphone are meant to keep your musical experience to yourself. The girl across the aisle just got a job in Toronto that's only a little way away from her house. There's a statistics midterm for psychology students today. Did I really want or need to know any of that? No, not really but now you do, too, so we can hold this useless info together.

There really aren't that many people here today. They must be studying. More likely at this hour is that they're sleeping but they probably used the excuse of studying to justify skipping this class to enjoy a few more hours of sleep. Sometimes I wish I was good at that kind of justification.

Well, headphones guy's friends just showed but so even the illusion of peacehas been shatter. Class is about to start, too, so I Gould probably stop now.

Good day ladies! I hope that you enjoy today in less of a caffiene induced haze than I will.

Much love,

Dina

There's more than one way...

Hey ladies!

...I think that the exclamation point might be a bit much this morning as I'm still very sleepy.

Zzzzzzzz...

ZzzzzzZzzzzz...

ZzzzzzZzzzZzzzzzz...

*snorts*sits up* What? Oh yeah, I'm writing a blog.

The past few days have been pretty busy as I had two midterms this week, one on Monday and te second this morning at 8:30. *yawns* I've got two more enormous midterms next week so the fun is just going to continue. I can't wait for reading week.

Before my exam today there were two girls beside me who were talking about their STAT class and saying "I think they should, like, just take one mark off if we ask them for a formula and they give it to us because, like, as soon as I have the formula I'm like, I totally know what I'm doing, ya know?" And in my head I was all "OMG YOU ACTUALLY NEEDCONTEXT IN YOUR LIFE OTHERWISE A BASIC CALCULATOR IS SMARTER THAN YOU!!!"

*sighs* Sometimes people are morons...

So yesterday, as mildly indicated by the title of this post, myself and my lab partners discovered unequivocally that there is, in fact, more than one way to skin a cat but by far the best way is to make a little scalple incision, widen that strategically with a pair of scissors and then just yank on it. Feels a bit like ripping fabric to be honest. Rather strange that. Ah well... I think my lab partners and I did a fairly good job and Gladys, the cat, will be in great shape or next week. Lots of morbid humour was shared. A few gross out moments were had. Ethical discussion ensued. Complaints over smell were abundant but somehow it was all done and I got to go home a little early and wash said stench off me. HUZZAH for not smelling like dead cat!

Well, it is now time for the class that my friends and I lovingly refer to as a mental break so I'd better go.

Have a good one ladies,

Dina

A study break

Hey ladies,

I'm up in my school library trying to read. I have finished one chapter today so HUZZAH for success! (My iPod automatically corrects huzzah to HUZZAH so that's why it's capitalized.) Still, no matter how successful you are sometimes a girl needs a break. This is one of those times.

Can I talk about how freaking gorgeous it is outside? I rode to school today with my windows down and the wind blowing in my hair and it was fabulous! That being said, it's the beginning of February!! it's supposed to be -35 with a moderate chance of freezing your bits off right about now and yet it's frolicking weather outside! Curse you global warming! Some things are sacred and not being able to feel my thighs because of wind chill is actually one of those things when it's February! I'm seriously quite freaked out by this warm weather, no matter how much I enjoy the freedom from my winter coat. I really hope I'll be back to freezing my buns off soon because anything else just wouldn't be right.

I'm pretty excited this week because I have a day off work this weekend. like, I finally have a day where I actually have nothing to do! I realize that I had a lot of nothing to do over Christmas holidays but Christmas holidays are this little kind of bubble of happy goodness that somehow exists outside the timeline of the regular routine that is my school experience. I know that it happened and that I had a blast while it did but once I'm back here and at work again it feels like the semester just continued after exams. I'm super excited to sleep in as long as my heart desires on my big fantastic bed. I want to get up and make tea in my track pants and pajamas and watch cartoons while lazily crunching on some toast... It's gonna be great. Even more fantastic is that the day I have off also happens to host a volleyball game which the school band will be attending and I can finally go! Even even more fantastic is that Rae has agreed to come along and play the tambourine!! (Playing the tambourine in the band is a gateway drug. I'm hoping she gets a little hooked.)

So basically, the weekend should be all of the good things.

Another interesting tidbit, today is the 3 month anniversary of the first Dina-Rae date. (This is a melted bree moment, I think.)

Well, my ignored textbook is whining at me to just read it already so I'd better go.

Much love,

Dina
