Watching House

Hey ladies,

It's been a while but I'm sitting here watching House for the first time in a long time and laughing my face off so I thought I would share some of it with you.

Earlier I watched the episode that I'm sure so many slashers loved where House and Wilson move into their new apartment and pretend to be gay in order to gain the trust of their new neighbour. Hilariousness! I've only ever read one House/Wilson fanfiction and it was more about curiosity than an actual interest. It was pretty funny and very you-missed-it-because-it-was-behind-the-scenes awesomeness. I have to say that I would be rather curious if the same author had written something to go with that particular episode, particularly after Wilson's proposal. ;)

I really hope that my boss never uses my cell phone to sext my partner while I'm at work...

I also have to say that I really approve of the major cast during Season 6. I mean really! I get to ogle Chase and Thirteen almost all the time during every episode! What more could a girl ask for?

More fun stuff, the episode I'm watching now had a scene in the cognitive science lab which I actually kind of understood because of the class I took last semester. I'm not sure how real the study that they showed on the show is but it's still supremely cool to think that a computer could generate someone's mental images after eight hours study of their processing patterns. At least, I think it's supremely cool.

After a detour of looking cognitive science university programs I'm thinking that a better fanfiction for House would be Taub/Foreman when they're both high out of their minds on vicodin. That could be a bunch of fun!

Well, I've had a lovely evening of doing nothing as usual and I shall bid you goodnight.

Love you ladies,

Dina

P.S. Yay for New York and marriage equality! Woot!

Take me out to the ball game

Hey ladies!
Before I get to my story can I just say ..... OMG I"M GOING TO CAMP IN LIKE 5 DAYS!!!
*excited*

anyways! Story time!

On Sunday I went to the big city with Malcolm's family to watch a Jays game!
He and I drove there in his car, his parents, sister and sister's friend (who I immediately liked because she was wearing a bazinga shirt and knew a song for everything) were in a different car.

We drove to a Timmy's and met up with his grandparents and cousins. I had met the two cousins and they're awesome. One had her bf (more on him later cause he's HILARIOUS) and the other had her cousin from the other side of the family, a seven (ish) year old boy going to his first ball game! (it was my first ball game too!)
The uncle was there too. Malcolm warned me that he could be a little obnoxious and awkward but I found him to be quite funny. Also the Grandparents. I'd met Nan before (she totally loves me) but just met Pop for the first time that day.

That's pretty much Malcolm's entire family. Not a giant family, but tons of fun! I payed WAAAY more attention to them than I did to the game. of course, baseball isn't exactly exciting so that's not hard...

One cousin just had her wisdom teeth out not long before so she was hyped up on pain meds and also decided to drink. :P very fun. She also thought it was hilarious to steal my sunhat and put it on her dad, and Malcolm and the little cousin. I thought it was pretty funny too. :P

As for the HILARIOUS bf... well he got kinda drunk. Sister's friend was a Sox fan... everyone else was a Jay's fan. So he was chirping her hard :P At the end of the game he also lost his gf and got a ride with Malcolm and I to the restaurant where we went for dinner. The two of them together was both funny and irritating. Lots of fake arguing and nonsense :P we were the last to get to the restaurant and I walked in saying "never again!"

There were lots of other fun moments. Uncle telling first Malcolm and I and then Malcolm and the random old lady on his other side to "leave room for the holy spirit".
Sister's friend saying she's only allowed out on special occassions and with people who've had training.
Cousins teasing Sister about her New bf  - THE BRIT'S LITTLE BRO! he is even more british, and the cousins decided to call him Ro-Dawg.
Cousin's bf trying to say that someone was "sucking the fun" but getting some consonants mixed up....

I did lots of people watching as well which is always fun. had tons of food at dinner (Tucker's!! nom nom nom!!)

Got hugs from Nan and she thanked me for coming and for the gift. (some tea and duct tape flowers as a "thanks for inviting me")
Another heart-warming moment was when Malcolm told his sis that he figures he could take Ro-dawg in a fight if he needed to defend her honour.
(this also led into a convo about rowers vs. Rugby players, which culminated in me saying they should do it on  deadliest warrior )

It was a good day :) I learned NOTHING about baseball, except that the Jays got OWNED hardcore.

anyways, you've now been filled in... ie - you read my dribble drabble. Not sure how interesting it was but thanks for reading! :P

We Need Harry Potter, Like a Grindylow Needs Water

So, as a lead up to DH pt 2 (Which, btw, I'm SUPER FREAKIN EXCITED ABOUT!) we've been watching the earlier movies with their itty bitty characters. So anyways here is a list of fun stuff based off of Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets. Feel Free to add more!!!

Life lessons:
AD:  It does not do to dwell on dreams, Harry, and forget to live.
AD:  It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends.
HG: Books and cleverness. There are more important things: friendship and bravery
Never trust a Witches Weekly best Smile award winner
HG: Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself
AD: It is not our abilities that show what we truly are. It is our choices.

Drool moments:
Oliver Wood’s accent

WIN:
If you look at the cast list on IMDB Ralph Fines plays “ He Who Must Not Be Named”
The weasley Twins.
Horcrux defeated!

Cute:
Dobby J
HP: There's no Hogwarts without you, Hagrid

Hilarity :
HG:  Now if you two don't mind, I'm going to bed before either of you come up with another clever idea to get us killed - or worse, expelled.
RH: I shouldn’t have told you that....
Everyone knows the Weasleys! Draco, the Sorting hat, Lucius...
AD: What happened down in the dungeon between you and Professor Quirrell is a complete secret. So, naturally, the whole school knows.
RW: (to HG)  You’re a little scary sometimes you know that? Brilliant... but scary.
F&GW: no one's died in years. Someone will vanish occasionally, but they'll turn up in a month or two!
DM: (To “GG”) Reading? I didn't know you could read
GL: AMAZING! This is just like magic!
AW: Now, Harry you must know all about Muggles, tell me, what exactly is the function of a rubber duck
GW: Mummy, have you seen my jumper? MW: : Yes dear, it was on the cat.

OMGOMGOMG!

Okay ladies, here’s the deal,

I am going absolutely crazy right now! I feel like I’m going to explode with so much WANT and ALMOST! You know why, I know why, but somehow I don’t want to say it (and you'd better not mention it either) because anyone else could read this and then they might get what I want instead!

Gah!

I want to scream that OMFG IT’S ONLY A FEW HOURS AWAY OR MAYBE EVEN LESS, WHAT!?!

That’s right. I was on the site of sites (today anyways) and this thing is THERE!!! IT’S FUCKING THERE AND I WANT IT SO BAD!! Problem is that only some of it is there and not our bit of it so I will have to wait (but maybe not as long as I thought?!?!) and IT’S DRIVING ME MAD!!

Yes, well...

How have you ladies been?

I haven’t been doing an incredible lot of things but I have grass in my backyard now and I find this rather exciting. A bit daunting, too, because it means I have one more thing to take care of over here and I have to learn to use a lawn mower but hey, it’s all green and much prettier than before!

I CAN’T CALM DOWN!!

I think I’m going to have to go on a walk to distract myself soon but I know I haven’t posted on here in a while and this was something I could write about. I will certainly be telling you the outcome of my frantic clicking as soon as it is done but not before besides the possibility of increasingly frantic text messages as I continually refresh the page where our fate will be decided...

That may have been overly dramatic.

Love you (madly),

Dina
